Michele Weisman founded Meet the Writers, Inc. after twenty-five years engaged in product development with some of the most respected names in children’s publishing, including Sesame Workshop, Time For Kids, and Highlights for Children. Meet the Writers reflects Michele’s deep commitment to supporting education and literacy for all students.

Board of Directors
Jai Griem is a lawyer by training who has long been involved in various aspects of public education in New York City.  She is currently employed by the New York City Department of Education in the Division of Family and Community Engagement where she works to strengthen parent engagement in the city school system. Prior to this, she was a mediator with the New York Peace Institute.

Andrew Gutelle is a writer, editor, and editorial consultant with extensive experience creating engaging, educational, award-winning content for children. Andrew received three Emmy nominations for his work on Reading Rainbow. He was Editorial Director at Sesame Workshop and then worked for Highlights for Children where eight book clubs he started reach millions of children.

Scott Moore is Assistant Principal at Hamilton Grange Middle School in Harlem. A former literacy coach and current doctoral student in Literacy Studies, Scott believes strongly that all students must have access to texts and authors that provide - as Rudine Sims Bishop coined - mirrors (that reflect and validate who they are), windows (into experiences beyond their own), and sliding glass doors (to step into different worlds).

Jennifer Weiss has been in the field of public health for over 15 years. Currently she consults for New York-based non­profits on public health policy, advocacy and education relating to workplace wellness, chronic disease management, long term health care, and nutrition. In addition to her public health work, Jennifer is an entrepreneur and a writer.
